Kirkland Bodie Jr aka Kirkstar is my name, I was born and raised on a small island called Nassau, Bahamas also known as New Providence the capital of the Bahamas, since I was a little boy music and dancing has ALWAYS no make ups, no lies...nothing, has always been a part of my life and culture Junkanoo a style of energy and stamina put together with magnificent crafted costumes and floats with physique, elegant woman dancers as the men and boys rush down the roads and streets of Nassau with many different groups and different themes towards winning the prize to see who will be number #1. But that is an example of Junkanoo, and also our style of genre of music Rake N' Scrape plus Calypso has been part of our culture for many years, going on strong, and we have many talented Bahamian artist's as well, my Father who I look up to he has been in the business for over 30 years STRONG. But the fact not cause he is a musician I want to be one, but that I have been blessed with something and should show it off to the world to let them see that I as a Bahamian can go beyond the boundaries to achieve a dream far along the road area, plus with the conception of seeing my mother, little sister, and grandmother lives get better and want them to live good lives...to see all of us live good lives, to show Bahamians (Young) that no matter what dream/goal you have set in your mind don't let NO ONE tell you otherwise you do got what it takes, BUT it depends on how bad you want it and the will you have to go and make it happen. I've seen my fair share of islanders go on to come into America to reach for stardom I can say one part of me wishes for that too....but the other part of me has more going on to say I want to let out my ideas and give out messages through song,dance,reviews, much more out to my country to my people that we are more talented than you think, cause we are the ones next on the line to show the world what the 242 is all about. And I Kirkstar will be the first to start off the signal FA SHO DAT!!!!!!!!!
