School of Visual Arts senior looking for cast for her thesis film. The film takes place in post-war England (Late 1945). The story follows a young woman, Clare, as she prepares to move to India to join her fiance who has been serving there for the past three years. Before leaving on the train to Portsmouth then on to India, she stops off at a local bookshop to find a book for the trip. While there, she meets the owner, Charles (mid 40s), and falls in love. Over the two days they spend together, we see their connection strengthen in their private literary fantasy. The film ends in such a way that it is up to the viewer to decide whether they stay in correspondence with one another, or whether Clare moves on.
I'm casting for the part of Charles - Mid 40s. A very literary, scholarly man. Quiet and reserved. More of the solitary type. Must have or be able to affect an English accent.
