Pippin – (Age Range: 18-25) The young son of Emperor Charlemagne and heir to the throne, Pippin is a bright, educated and naive young man living in a world that continues to elude his ever-changing philosophies. Must look youthful! Excellent singer/dancer/actor. Vocal Range: Tenor/High Baritone with strong belted high G, and falsetto high C. (Be prepared to sing from musical numbers “Corner Of The Sky”, “With You” & “Love Song”).

Charles – (Age Range: 45+) Also known as the emperor Charlemagne, Charles is the most powerful man in the world, next to the Pope. A giant on the battlefield and in the bedroom, his basic preoccupation is with war, carnage, conquest and ruling his empire. He is also a less-than-attentive father who basically loves Pippin. Must have commanding, larger than life presence! Great comic actor. Vocal Range: Baritone to a high E. (Be prepared to sing from musical number “War Is A Science”).

Lewis – (Age Range: 20-25) Pippin's not-too-bright half-brother, and, after Pippin, heir to the throne, Lewis is doted upon by his mother, Fastrada, as she attempts to promote his chances of becoming principal heir. Not at all like Pippin, Lewis loves weight lifting, wrestling, showing off, and, most of all, Lewis. Seeking strong actor/dancer combo. Vocal Range: Baritone or Tenor.

Fastrada – (Age Range: 30-45) Pippin’s stepmother, she is devious but crafty, cunning and untrustworthy (the quintessential fairytale villainess). Of course, Fastrada is a warm and wonderful mother to Lewis, for whom she is dedicated to gaining the throne for, in just about any way she can. Strong singer/actress/dancer. Vocal Range: A below middle C to a belty mixed D (9th above middle C). (Be prepared to sing from musical number “Spread A Little Sunshine”).
