"Act Up" is a studio-based documentary that features the experiences, aspirations, and performances of aspiring actors who live in New York and surrounding areas. As the second installation in SYGM's Aspiring Talent Documentary Series, Act Up is uniquely designed to give actors the exposure, broadcasting to over 40 million viewers on the DISH Network, as well as production materials (video footage from studio recordings and pictures from photo shoots) to empower aspiring talent to take their careers to the next level. Act Up accepts actors from all backgrounds, from individuals just getting into the industry to experienced performers who get regular gigs, and as each production event takes place on the weekend, the project is perfect for both young people who are in school and for adults who have a career.
Each Act Up Cast is arranged according to age, so if selected, you'll be placed in a group of talented, ambitious actors of similar age and interests who will not only provide you a source of new industry contacts, but will also give you friendships that will last a lifetime. Act Up provides a positive, energetic atmosphere for you to grow as an actor, be featured on national TV, and receive professionally-produced video and photographic materials for your personal use. We provide the set...you make the scene!
